Where It All Started: The Lakhani Mansion
The place where it all started!
The old Lakhani Mansion still stands in Navsari, Gujarat, India. Our founder, Sam Naushad Lakhani, was raised here along with his 10 brothers and sisters. His father, Rahimtulla Najarali Lakhani, a well-known philanthropist and civil servant, built a strong legacy of serving his community and helping those in need.
This picture is from our family’s visit to India in 2015.
We honestly didn’t know if the place would still be standing since Sam and his siblings had moved to different parts of the world, but there it was. Old and worn, but just as valuable and sentimental for us. In fact, the experience of seeing his family home after 35 years is what inspired Sam to begin the Lakhani Foundation in 2016 and continue his father’s legacy.
Today, the foundation’s reach has expanded far beyond the walls of Navsari, to greater areas of India, the United States, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt, China, and Africa!
Support our mission to provide essential resources and opportunities to impoverished communities around the world.
The Lakhani Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that serves communities around the world. It was founded in 2016 by the Lakhani family.
The foundation’s mission is to improve the welfare and prospects of those in need by providing essential resources to enhance their quality of life, and creating opportunities to help them become self-sustainable over time.
